Ok, I have a few random thoughts about last night's game.
1. Why, why, why is the Brewers' coaching staff so impressed with Seth McClung? He stinks!! I can recall one or two games in which he didn't suck, but more often than not, he stinks up the place. Sure he can throw the gas, but when he does manage to find the plate, he leaves a big ol' meatball hanging over it that is never seen again. Time to give him the hook!
2. Brewers record 6-2. Dave Bush's record 0-2. Do we see a pattern? Mike Maddux said he'd give him a pass for the Chicago game because it was cold and rainy, blah blah blah. Sheets won in the same weather, as did Jeff Suppan. Try again, Mike. What was the excuse for the miserable pitching last night? It wasn't cold. It wasn't raining. I'm thinking Dave has the big 'X' on his back when Gallardo comes back.
3. Why was Prince looking off toward left field instead of paying attention to Dave? Isn't the first baseman always supposed to be ready for a pickoff move when there's a man on base? I'm just saying...
4. The return of Turnblow. Enough said.
5. (This is about Tuesday's game) Eric, stop shaking off your catcher. The crowd will be just as pleased with a popout or flyout as long as you do your job. Crash Davies said it best. "Don't try to strike everyone out. Strikeouts are boring, and besides that, they're fascist." Don't think; just throw, Meat.
Until next time, go Brewers!
